On April 15, 2025, Autoshop Vietnam, in collaboration with the New Generation PGM-FI Scooter Electrical and Electronics Training Center (Tùng Tay Ga), successfully organized a free training class on OEM ECU Remapping using SMARTFi2 equipment and REMAP PC software. The event took place in Da Nang and attracted a large number of enthusiastic participants.
The class welcomed not only male students pursuing careers in motorcycle repair and performance upgrades but also female learners, showcasing the growing appeal of the modern motorcycle engineering field.
Throughout the session, participants actively engaged in discussions, asked questions, and practiced diligently. After just one day of training, many attendees had already grasped the core knowledge and felt confident applying ECU remapping in real-world scenarios to help optimize engine performance for customers.
Course Content:
- The course was methodically designed, combining theory and hands-on practice, including:
- Introduction to ECU Remapping: definition, when and why remapping is needed, and its practical benefits for motorcycles.
- Step-by-step remapping procedures to ensure technical accuracy, safety, and efficiency.
- Detailed instructions on how to operate and use SMARTFi2 and REMAP PC software for various motorcycle models.
- Proper ECM (Electronic Control Module) connections to avoid electrical system damage.
- Operational map analysis, identification of abnormal parameters, and accurate error diagnostics.
- Troubleshooting initial throttle lag commonly found in Honda models.
- Fine-tuning throttle response for stronger acceleration and launch performance.
- Adjusting fuel injection ratios and ignition timing—key factors in optimizing power and fuel efficiency.
- Unlocking RPM limits to unleash full engine potential.
- Precisely calibrating the air-fuel (A/F) mixture based on engine RPM ranges.
- Enabling/disabling error codes and adjusting special modes on motorcycles.
- Customizing early cooling fan activation and VVA (Variable Valve Actuation) timing for better thermal performance.
- Resolving backfire issues on popular models such as SH Italy and SH Vietnam.
This event was not only a valuable learning opportunity but also a chance for motorcycle technicians to connect and network. Autoshop Vietnam is committed to continuing its support for the mechanic community across the country by offering more free and practical training programs in the future.
